Anonymizer® Framework v3.0 - Troubleshooting


Client name does not match server name
Please follow these steps to fix the error user name does not match server username in the XP.
  1. Right click on the Anonymizer icon and left click on exit.

  2. Click on Start

  3. Click on Run

  4. Enter the following:
    • (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Anonymizer\Anonymizer Software\)

  5. Click Ok

  6. Right click the file AnonUser.data
    • Select Delete

  7. Restart Anonymizer
    • Double left click on the Anonymizer Shortcut on the Desktop

    • Click on the Windows Symbol-> Programs-> Anonymizer

  8. Select the program you wish to activate

  9. Select Activate

  10. Enter the license key

  11. Enter the correct username and password for the key

  12. Enter your email address

  13. Click OK

  14. Click Finish
Please follow these steps to fix the error user name does not match server username in Windows Vista.
  1. Right click on the Anonymizer icon and left click on exit

  2. Click on the Windows symbol

  3. In the Start Search box located directly underneath All Programs enter the following:
    • %ProgramData%\Anonymizer\Anonymizer Software\

  4. Right click the file AnonUser.data
    • Select Delete

  5. Restart Anonymizer
    • Double left click on the Anonymizer Shortcut on the Desktop

    • Click on the Windows Symbol-> Programs-> Anonymizer

  6. Select the program you wish to activate

  7. Select Activate
    • Enter the license key

    • Enter the correct username and password for the key

    • Enter your email address

    • Click OK

    • Click Finish
Microsoft exception or debugging error
Windows XP

This indicates that the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 may not be updated or may be corrupted. Please follow the steps below.

To Uninstall and Reinstall Anonymizer please follow these instructions:
  1. Right click on the icon in the lower right hand corner and left click Exit. Click OK.

  2. Left click on the Windows icon in the lower left hand corner and click Control Panel.

  3. Click on Add/Remove Programs.

  4. Select Remove next to all Anonymizer entries.

  5. Follow all the way through the wizard to the point of finish.

  6. Then you need to remove the older Anonymizer folder, if present.

  7. Click on Start-> My Computer-> Local Disk C-> Program Files

  8. If there is an Anonymizer folder listed, please Right click and select Delete.

  9. Then you need to set up your C drive to show hidden folders.
    • Click on Start-> My Computer-> Local Disk C-> Documents and Settings

    • At the top of the window click on Tools-> Folder Options-> View

    • Under Hidden files and folders:
      • Select Show hidden files and folders.

      • Click OK.

  10. Delete the other Anonymizer folders.
    • Click on EACH folder listed individually in Documents and Settings and go into Application Data.

    • If there is an Anonymizer folder listed, please Right click and select Delete.

  11. Restart your computer.

  12. Left click on the Windows icon in the lower left hand corner and click Control Panel.

  13. Click on Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall a Program.

  14. Uninstall IN THIS ORDER:
    • Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0

    • Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Beta (if installed)

    • Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 2.0 (if installed)

    • Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable

    • You may be prompted to restart your computer several times.

  15. Open your Internet Explorer browser and go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.

  16. On this page, you will see Express and Custom. Please click on the Custom button.

  17. Once the Update Web site completes the scan for updates available, please download ALL updates you see on the left. You will see how many updates are available for each type of Windows Update. Download all the Updates so this number says 0 (zero). This does not apply only to High Priority. It is the Software updates listed as Optional that need to display zero along with the High Priority.

  18. After you have completed all these steps, please download the Anonymizer software from the link below.

  19. Go to My Downloads under the My Account Home to redownload the software or contact Support.

  20. To retrieve your License keys, please go to:
    www.anonymizer.com/consumer/members/my_subscriptions.html and login with your username and password.

Windows Vista
  1. Please go to Control Panel and Windows Updates.
    • Click on Check for updates.

    • Please install all available updates, including optional updates. This may require multiple restarts of your computer.

  2. Restart the computer after the updates have completed and again check for updates. Microsoft will only detect an additional update once the original update has been installed.

  3. Then close and exit all programs currently running, including Web browsers.

  4. Remove Anonymizer program and files, if present.

  5. Left click on the Windows icon in the lower left hand corner and click Control Panel.

  6. Click on Programs or Programs and Features.

  7. Select all Anonymizer entries and click Uninstall.

  8. Follow all the way through the wizard to the point of finish.

  9. Then you need to remove the older Anonymizer folder, if present.
    • Click on Windows Icon-> Computer-> Local Disk C-> Program Files. If there is an Anonymizer folder listed, please Right click and select Delete.

  10. Delete the other Anonymizer folders.
    • Click on the Windows symbol (Start).

    • In the Start Search box located directly underneath All Programs enter the following: %ProgramData%

    • Delete the Anonymizer folder and the folder labeled {9E97B640-FCFE-4900-B18A-72FAE662D6B7}

  11. Empty your temp folder.
    • Click on the Windows symbol (Start) in the Start Search box located directly underneath All Programs enter the following: %temp%

    • Delete the Anonymizer folder, if present.

  12. Restart your computer.

  13. Go to My Downloads under the My Account Home to redownload the software or contact Support.

  14. To retrieve your License keys, please go to:
    https://www.anonymizer.com/consumer/members/my_subscriptions.html and login with your username and password.
