Installing or Uninstalling Anonymizer Universal OpenVPN from Windows OS

InstallationThe following steps will help you easily install your Anonymizer software. Our InstallAware Wizard will guide you through each step. Images are provided for additional clarification to visually guide you through the process.
*Special Note to current Anonymizer customers:
Start by uninstalling all Anonymizer programs you have installed previously on your computer. Go to the “Control Panel” and “Uninstall a Program” (Windows Vista/ 7) or “Add/ Remove Programs” (Windows XP). Select “Uninstall” or “Remove” for all Anonymizer programs listed. This is critical for previous “Anonymous Surfing” users.

If your computer has not yet been updated with “Microsoft .NET Framework Client 4.0” you will need to download and install it. Select “Next”. After the prerequisite is downloaded, Anonymizer will begin to install. This may take several minutes.
After reading the License Agreement, check the “I accept the license agreement.” box and click “Next.”
In this step, you can choose to install the software for “All Users” or “Just Me.” In addition, you can choose to add a shortcut to the desktop. Once you have made your selections, click “Next.”
You are now ready to install the software. Click “Next” to continue. The installation process will begin.
Please select “Always trust software from Anonymizer Inc”. This will install the Anonymizer Network Adapter. Note: Please allow extra time for the installation process as it installs the OpenVPN driver and the Anonymizer Universal service. This may take slightly longer than usual.
Please select “Continue Anyway” when prompted with the Hardware Installation dialog. The system for signing drivers in Windows XP is different than that of Windows Vista and 7. Windows XP does not recognize drivers signed by companies other than Microsoft.
Enter your “Username” and “Password” in their corresponding fields. Be sure to check the “Save Information” box and click “OK”.
The status will now read “Protected.” The anonymous IP address displayed is the Anonymizer IP address issued for that day. The Anonymizer Universal icons on your screen and in your System Tray will turn blue indicating an anonymous and secure connection.

After rebooting your computer, you will see a pop-up to configure the User Account Control. Select “Yes”.
You may choose any of the options displayed It is recommended that you “Install updates automatically”. Click “Next” to continue.
You may enter your Windows password in the screen below or you may choose to skip this step by clicking “Next”
RemoveRemoving Anonymizer Universal 1.2 on your PC is quick-and-easy. Simply follow these 11 steps to uninstall.
Begin by right clicking the “Anonymizer Universal” icon in the lower right-hand corner of your system tray and then choose “Exit.”
Click on the “Start” icon in the lower left-hand corner and then choose “Control Panel.”
Choose “Anonymizer Universal” from the list and select “Remove” to begin the “Uninstall Wizard.”
Select “Remove”. Check the “Remove saved user information” and “Remove OpenVPN virtual network adapter” boxes to uninstall completely and then “Next” to continue.
Although it will appear to be installing the software, it is actually beginning the uninstall process.
Select “Finish” once you have received the message “Anonymizer Universal has been uninstalled successfully.”
After the Beta is removed it may be necessary to drag the icon on your desktop to the “Recycle Bin”
After dragging the Beta icon to the Recycle Bin select “Empty the Recycle Bin” to remove the icon from your computer.
