Installing Anonymizer Universal on your Android device is quick-and-easy. Simply follow these easy steps.
The software is compatible on Android devices using OS 4.0 or above
Finding your OS Version: On most Android Devices, the operating system is found by going to Settings, then About Phone, and is listed under “Android Version.”
Step 1
On your Android device’s browser, download the latest Anonymizer Universal OpenVPN profile by going here https://anonymizer.com/rest/download/openvpn_config/AnonymizerUniversal.ovpn
Step 2
Download and install the OpenVPN Connect app on your Android 4.0 or higher device: http://goo.gl/Kqpu0
Step 3
Launch the OpenVPN Connect app and open the menu on the top right corner.
NOTE: If the menu option is NOT located on the screen please press the Menu button on your phone.
Step 4
From the top right hand corner, select Import > Import Profile from SD card > Download
Step 5
Choose Anonymizer Universal.ovpn then tap Select to install the profile.
Step 6
Enter your Anonymizer Universal username and password, then tap Next. If prompted, accept the Android security dialog, which allows OpenVPN to open a VPN tunnel for you. In a few seconds you should be connected and a lock key icon will appear in the upper left corner of the screen, indicating that the VPN is active.
You should now be connected! Check your connection status by verifying that OpenVPN Connect indicates that you are connected.
Step 7
To better protect your identity, tap the menu button, then select Preferences. In the Preferences screen, make sure the following are checked:
- Seamless Tunnel
- Reconnect on Reboot
- DNS Fallback
- Notifications
From Preferences, also:
- Tap VPN Protocol, then select TCP.
- Tap Connection Timeout, then select Continuously retry.
