Anonymizer Total Net Shield v2.08

Outlook Configuration

The Total Net Shield Configuration Wizard will automatically set up the Total Net Shield email account in your mail client when you click Create Account. If you would like to manually add the Total Net Shield email account to your email client please follow the steps below.


Outlook 2003 Configuration

Step 1
Open your Outlook mail client, go to Tools then select Email Accounts.


Step 2
On the Email Accounts page, select the option Add a New Email Account and click Next.


Step 3
Click on POP3 to connect to a POP3 e-mail server to download your e-mail and click Next.


Step 4
On the E-mail Accounts page, enter the name you would like displayed (this can be left blank for anonymity), Email address, Username, Password and check the box for “Remember Password.” For the Incoming and Outgoing server enter the word localhost (all lowercase, no spaces). Click on More Settings to the lower right corner.


Step 5
It will direct you to the General tab and it will indicate your Anonymizer email that you just created.


Step 6
Click on the Outgoing Server tab at the top, select the check box for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.”


Step 7
Click on the Advanced tab at the top right, make sure that the “Incoming server (POP3) is 110 and Outgoing server (SMTP) is 25” and click Ok. Ensure that Leave a copy of messages on the server is unchecked.


Step 8
Click Finish.


Step 9
Now you will see your Anonymizer email account is completely set up.


Step 10
To activate the email account send an email to this email address from another email account.
