Resolution(s): The unencrypted mail port 25 is blocked to prevent abuse by spammers. To check if your outgoing server (SMTP) is using port 25, please follow these steps.

Please Note: If you have an email address set up to use port 25 to send outgoing messages, please contact your mail administrator to use an alternate port. Typically, email providers prefer certain ports including 587 and 465. These ports generally require authentication. You may need to change your outgoing mail server to require authentication.

  1. Go to “Tools” and then “Account Settings.”
  2. Select your email account and click “Change.”
  3. Click on “More Settings.”
  4. Select the “Advanced Tab”:
    If the SMTP Server port is 25 and the encryption type listed is “None‚” contact your Mail administrator for an alternate port that uses encryption.
